Phil Dirt & the Dozers will perform in concert on August 18 in Mullens as part of the city’s centennial celebration.
The concert begins at 8 p.m. in the municipal parking lot and is free to the public.
Phil Dirt & the Dozers is a rock and roll oldies band which performs popular tunes of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
The nostalgia-oriented show includes hit tunes originally made popular by the Beach Boys, Roy Orbison, the Four Seasons, the Eagles and others.
The family-friendly act has performed at state and county fairs, theaters, casinos, speedways, conventions, trade shows and more.
Phil Dirt & the Dozers have performed at Lincoln Center in New York City and at the Bellaire Country Club in Beverly Hills. The group averagees 250 shows per year.
Additional centennial events are slated for later this year, according to Kim Woodrum, city clerk.
“We’re working on an event for September,” she remarked. “Sept. 11 is our actual one hundredth anniversary.”
