GLEN FORK — Ida Marie Brooks Ledford, 82, of Glen Fork passed away Friday, June 29, 2012, at her residence. Born March 7, 1930, at Sabine, she was the daughter of the late French Kale and Nona Walker Brooks. A celebration of Ida’s life was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Evans Memorial Chapel, Oceana, with the Rev. Ernest Francis and the Rev. Jonathon Cresong officiating. Evans Funeral Home of Oceana is serving the Ledford family.

BASIN — Hester Marie McKinney Mills, 89, of Basin, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at the Wyoming Continuous Care Nursing Home in New Richmond, following a long illness. Born Jan. 25, 1923, at Basin, she was the daughter of the late Giles Kelly and Virgie Lou McKinney. Services was held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012, at the Basin Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Hugh McKinney officiating. The family of Hester Marie McKinney Mills is being cared for by Tankersley Funeral Home, Mullens.

Lenora Virginia Green Phelps

OCEANA — Lenora Virginia Green Phelps, 90, of Oceana, WV, departed this life on Friday, June 29, 2012, at her home. She was born October 2, 1921, in Bud, WV, a daughter of the late Richard Lee and Martha Stanley Green. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum, Beckley, WV, with Rev. Roger Stewart officiating. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.

KOPPERSTON — Gary Thomas Snuffer, 66, of Kopperston, passed away Friday, July 1, 2012. In keeping with Gary’s wishes he was cremated.
