Pineville will host the Little League 11-12 all-stars tournament beginning this Saturday at Pinnacle Creek.

Five teams are competing in District 2. The top two will advance to the state tournament in Martinsburg, which starts on July 20.

Opening day action features Welch taking on Madison at 2 p.m. and Man playing Chapmanville at 4 p.m. Pineville has a bye.

On Sunday, July 8, there will be a losers bracket contest at 2 p.m. Pineville battles the Welch-Madison winner at 4 p.m.

A winner’s bracket game on July 9 at 6 p.m. will be followed by a championship contest at 8 p.m.

Play concludes on Tuesday at 7 p.m. with two teams playing for the district runner-up spot and a trip to the state tournament.

Mullens began play in the 9-10 all-star tournament last weekend at Man. Other teams in the field are Man, Chapmanville, Tug Valley and Madison.

A championship game was slated for Monday night at 8 p.m.

A loser’s bracket game to determine the district runner-up and second state tournament representative was slated for Tuesday at 7 p.m.
