Applications for the Wyoming County Community Fund Scholarship Grant must be submitted by April 18.
The $250 grant is available to students who attend Wyoming East and Westside high schools, the Wyoming County Career and Technical Center and the Wyoming/McDowell Campus of Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College.
It is also available to adult resident of the county who are returning to school after spending time in the work force and to Wyoming County adults who have a GED.
Eligibility criteria include:
Students attending high school or college must have a GPA of at least 2.5 as of their last term.
Applicants cannot be on probation of any kind.
Use of the scholarship grant must begin in the fall 2012 term.
This is a one-time grant which will not be repeated for recipients.
Grants may not be used for payoff of student loans and cannot be awarded to Wyoming County Community Fund or Wyoming County Planning Commission members or their immediate family.
Applicants will be asked to submit a 300 word or less narrative on why they should be the grant recipient.
The review process may include a phone interview by the Scholarship Application Committee. The grant award will be announced four to six weeks from the proposal deadline.
