Pineville scored four runs in the first and went on to beat Madison, 12-3, in the 7-8 all-stars (coach-pitch) game at Pinnacle Creek on Tuesday evening.

Pineville improved to 2-0 in pool play and takes on Omar at 8 p.m. tonight (Wednesday).

“I thought our defense was good,” said Pineville coach Shawn Parsons. “Our hitting was kind of sluggish.”

The Warriors held a 7-1 advantage after tacking on three runs in the second.

Madison cut the margin to 7-3 but never got any closer.

“This is a good bunch of kids,” stated Parsons. “They listen and they’re coachable.”

Pineville wraps up pool play on Thursday at 8 p.m. against Man.

The top two teams from each pool advance to Friday’s semi-finals, which start at 6 p.m.
