The eighth annual Night in the Art Gallery reception will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Arthur Butcher Gallery in the Alexander Fine Arts Center on Concord University’s Athens campus. This art exhibition is a continuing partnership between Concord University’s Art Department and Mercer County Schools.

Visitors will have the opportunity to view student artwork from Bluefield High School, Princeton Senior High School, Glenwood Middle School, PikeView Middle School, Montcalm Elementary School and Montcalm High School. The Concord University Art Education students will help install the artwork.

During this interactive reception, visitors will be encouraged to create their own works of art by participating in hands-on activities and watching demonstrations conducted by Concord University Art Education students under the direction of Dr. Lauri Reidmiller, Associate Professor of Art.

Dr. Reidmiller would like to recognize Angela Bolda, an alum of the Concord University graphic design program, for designing this year’s poster. She would also like to extend a special thanks to Cynthia Tilley, Jean McCloud, Joyce Shamro, Denise Ward, Kevin Bennington, Jack Sheffler, Marcheta Gunter and all of the young artists and their families for helping to make the eighth annual Night in the Art Gallery a success.

For additional information contact Dr. Lauri Reidmiller at [email protected] or 304-384-5206.
