A Corinne man has been charged with strangulation, according to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department.
Joseph White, 37, facees several charges which arose from an alleged domestic dispute, according to Lt. Mike Johnson.
Johnson said he had been notified on May 10 that White was looking for his wife.
Johnson said he spoke to the victim, “and during her statement, several charges arose from the incident.”
White is charged with malicious wounding, strangulation, four counts of domestic assault, four counts of threatening by electronic device and two counts of domestic battery, Johnson reported.
He said the DHS office in Pineville was locked down briefly on May 10 until it was deemed safe.
White was arrested, and bond was set at $25,000. He was taken to Southern Regional Jail.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Tuesday.
Johnson is the investigating officer.
