The Wyoming County Historical Museum will host a photo scavenger hunt.
The hunt, called “Discover Our History,” will begin in May and continue through August.
“This is a fun way for residents to explore our county and learn a little county history,” said Jim Cook, a member of the museum board.
Five items or places will be posted on the museum’s Facebook page each month.
Participants are asked to to visit each site and take a photo of the site or a selfie with the item/location.
Cook said every person who completes the monthly hunt will be entered in a drawing for the Paul Ray Blankenship book “Cabins to Coal Mines.”
All monthly winners will be entered in a drawing for a $100 grand prize in September.
Every person who completed the hunt at least once in the four-month period will be entered in a drawing for the second chance $50 prize.
Persons under age 18 must be supervised by parents or another adult.
Photos should be posted on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtages #Wyomingcountymuseum #Wyomingcountyhistory
Photos must be emailed to [email protected] to qualify. The museum may post submitted photos on its Facebook page.
Digitally altered photos are not allowed and will be disqualified.
“The museum’s goal is to get people out of the house and enjoy beautiful Wyoming County, learn a little county history and have some fun along the way,” Cook commented.
